Born in the UK, Dr. Wilkes received his medical training in Edinburgh, followed by internships and residencies in pediatrics and psychiatry in England and Scotland. Faced with a lengthy ‘waiting-in-line’ to accede to a specialist position he was advised to acquire experience in the colonies and decamped to Canada. He has been practicing in Alberta since 1987, first in Lethbridge and then, since 1990, in Calgary, where he maintained a clinical adolescent psychiatric practice and an academic position at the University of Calgary. He completed his Jungian training through OAJA in 2015 and serves on the faculty of the OAJA analyst training program. Just prior to his retirement as Department Chair in Adolescent and Child Psychiatry, Dr. Wilkes was awarded the Medal for Distinguished Service by the Alberta Medical Association in 2022. Although retired from administrative and academic duties he continues to devote 3 days weekly as consultant to a number of outpatient adolescent mental health facilities.

June 19th, 1947 - June 23rd, 2024

Peggy Voth was a distinguished graduate of the analytic training program in Toronto and practiced in Calgary for many years. Having lived in Calgary for 25 years, Peggy received her BSW and MSW from the University of Calgary and worked as a clinical social worker in the not-for-profit sector, the corporate world, and in private practice before pursuing training to become a Jungian analyst. Her master’s research into second-generation effects of incest was published in a journal and presented to the Psychiatry Department at Alberta Children’s Hospital. A paper based on her training thesis, “Earthrise: Symbol, Culture and the Individual,” was delivered to the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies. Peggy was a member of the Western Association of Jungian Analysts and served on the Executive of the Calgary Jung Society. She lectured twice at the society, once as a student (“When The Feminine Is Ready, The Masculine Responds”) and once as an analyst (“Eve’s Gift to Us, Adam’s Gift to Eve”). Peggy brought a keen interest in the wholesome embodiment and expression of the masculine and feminine principles in everyday life to her work.

Peggy's profound insights and contributions to the field can be further explored in her excellent book, which you can buy here: The Nature of Woman
